Taste of Tuesday | Mungo's Salad

We have a great Italian restaurant by us called Mungo's.  It's not cheap - which means we don't get by there as often as I wish we could.  My friend, Janet, knew my love for Mungo's and shared this salad recipe with me years ago that is very similar to the one Mungo's dishes up.  Trust me -- you won't be disappointed when you whip up this one!

Here's the ingredients for the salad:
3 heads lettuce (combination iceberg and romaine)
3 bunches green onions, chopped
12 oz. package of provel shredded cheese
1-1/2 pounds bacon, fried and chopped

Dressing (whisk together):
6 oz. apple cider vinegar
1-1/2 cup olive oil
1/2 cup sugar
2 oz. water
1 package Good Seasons Italian dressing mix

We love this salad and it accompanies many meals at our house.  I've served it up along side quiche and soup.  It also works well as the salad before a steak dinner or bowl of pasta.  I hope you try it and love it as much as we do.
