Weekending - Happy Easter!

What a weekend!  Hope everyone had as great of Easter as we did.  I'm so glad I was off work on Friday to get ready for Saturday and Sunday.  It's always great to have a day off during the work week.

Friday was spent getting ready for Easter.  I wanted to fold the napkins into bunny ears like I had mentioned in my Thinking Out Loud post on Thursday.  Oh.My.Goodness -- I'm definitely not as good as Martha Stewart!  We had six people for Easter dinner and it took me an hour to fold the napkins.  I resorted to finding a You Tube video for a visual.  Jeez!  If I'd had more people coming for dinner I would have had to start folding the napkins on Valentine's Day to have them done!  But, the good news is I did get them folded and they looked adorable.  Is it sad that my biggest accomplishment for the day was folding napkins?!?

My parents arrived bright and early on Saturday morning and we headed to Soulard Market.  The sights and sounds of this farmer's market are so enjoyable.  I really need to visit this place more often.  Such a great experience.  There was vegetables, fruits, flowers and plants.  My favorite purchase of the morning -- Bar-B-Que Pork Rinds!

After perusing Soulard Market, we visited Holy Trinity Catholic Church, located in the Hyde Park area of St. Louis.  My dad had mentioned to me once that he had driven past that church all his life and wondered what it looked like on the inside.  We thought Saturday was just the day to stop by and finally see it.  And it was BEAUTIFUL!  The stained glass windows are stunning.  There were a few parishioners in the church cleaning and practicing music for their weekend services.  They welcomed us with open arms and allowed us to wonder around in the magnificent splendor.

We were in a neighborhood close to Crown Candy Kitchen so we thought ice cream was in order.  It was the usual 40 minutes wait -- but oh so worth it.  We all enjoyed milkshakes before getting on with the rest of our day.

We finished the day by running a few errands.  Ian and Kayla came by in the evening to play cards.  Don't you just love family time!

Sunday was much more mellow.  We had a great meal (if I must say to myself) and more card playing.  Great weekend.
Doesn't everyone have deviled eggs on Easter?

Eric and I capped off the evening by watching the Cardinals playing the Cubs.  Really Cubs fans, must you boo as the Cardinals are being introduced?!?  So proud to be a Cardinal fan!  Congrats on winning your season opener.

Our weekend was wonderful -- hope yours was too! I'm so grateful warmer weather is in store for us this week.  It just seems like I get more done when it's warmer and stays light longer.  Let's see how much I can get done this week!  Join me back here on Tuesday for a refreshing fruit salad recipe.  Have a great Monday!

Check out what others were up to this weekend.
