Five on Friday - April 8, 2016

Hello Friday!  This has been such a fun week I almost hate to see it end.  I had a work event on Tuesday and Thursday and both were a blast!  Tonight I'm looking forward to getting cozy at home and cleaning some shows off our DVR.  Now if I can talk Eric into making dinner it will be a perfect evening!  :)

Before the weekend fun hits, let me give you my five for this week ~

1.  Chaheati
For many years as Ian was growing up I sat on the sideline of multiple sporting venues and watched him play.  Half time I was freezing my bum off.  Not that I would have changed a thing, but this heated chair would sure have been nice to have!  It has four temperature settings for your heating pleasure.  The rechargeable battery lasts for hours.  For the campers, think how handle this baby would be!  Do you need one (or two)?  Click HERE to check it out.

2.  National Zoo Lovers Day
Tomorrow is National Zoo Lovers Day!  Here is St. Louis, we are blessed to have a magnificent zoo.  Admission is free and so are some of the attractions if you partake in them during the first hour of operation.  When Ian was little we visited the zoo OFTEN.  So many happy memories (and pictures)!  If you are from St. Louis or ever visit, I highly recommend a trip to our beloved zoo in Forest Park.  We are zoo members and still go several times a year.  As a matter of fact, a zoo membership is what I gave my brother and his family for Christmas this year.  Celebrate tomorrow with a trip to your local zoo!

3.  The Boss (Movie)
In the mood for a comedy?  Well, here's one you might want to see.  The Boss features funny lady Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Bell, Kathy Bates and Peter Dinklage.  In the movie, McCarthy plans a industry leader who is sent to prison for insider trading (sound like anyone you know - hint:  MS).  Upon her release from the big house, she to ready to start anew and become America's latest sweetheart.  Not all the critics are loving it, but I find it hard to say no to a Melissa McCarthy movie.

4.  Vasanti BrightenUp! Enzymatic Face Rejuvenator
A few months back this amazing product showed up in my Birchbox.  Now first, if you aren't a subscriber to Birchbox, you might want to give it a try.  For $10 a month, you get a box of goodies to try.  Some of my tried-and-true beauty products I learned about, and was able to sample, thanks to my monthly delivery.  Plus it's just so darn fun to get a box of stuff to try!  But back to this product -- here's the Birchbox description:  "This powerful exfoliator mimics the results of professional microdermabrasion, minus the potential for redness and sensitivity. First, papaya enzymes break down dead cells while evening out your skin tone. Next, dermatologist-approved microderm crystals fade the appearance of fine lines and acne scars, leaving skin smooth and free of imperfections. Finally, aloe vera, coconut, and vitamins B and E nourish fresh skin to keep it free of irritation."  I totally agree with the description.  Click on any of the Birchbox words to check it out.  Oh, and one more thing -- if you need a gift for a hard-to-buy-for person, a Birchbox subscription just might be the thing you've been looking for.

5.  Some days are just low people tolerate days...

Here's to you having a fabulous weekend!  I'm looking forward to Eric being off work on Saturday and girls afternoon on Sunday.  We'll be celebrating my friend Carol's birthday by going to "The Little Black Dress" exhibit at the Missouri History Museum.  SO.MUCH.FUN!  After a little rest tonight, I'll be all set to go!  Hope to see you back here soon!

  1. Spent many days on the soccer sidelines watching my daughter and freezing my butt off. The Chaheati would have been dandy! She's in college now, so those days are over...pretty slick invention though. I do love Melissa McCarthy, so I'll have to check this movie out. Have a great weekend!

I really want to see that Melissa McCarthy movie. Everything she's in is always funny, IMO.

WHAT?! HEATED CHAIRS!! This would come in very handy for those outdoor festies in the summer; I always get chilly when the wind picks up :) Thanks for sharing and happy weekend :)

  9. That chair is awesome! I was the team manager for our boy's lacrosse team in high school and it got very cold since it was early spring! I have 2 boys, so I know that my butt will be parked at the sidelines again in the future!

  10. We love the Houston zoo, but it would be even better if it was free! In recent years, it switched to private ownership, and the entry fee went way up. However, they have made lots of much needed improvements. Have a great weekend! TheOtherSideoftheRoad

  12. I could definitely use that chair. Will have to save up my spare change to get one. I've been to the St. Louis Zoo several times in the past. Hoping to go at least once this year.
