Five on Friday - April 21, 2017

Friday is here!  Boy did that come fast.  I honestly don't know where this week went, but it's gone.  I sure hope the weekend doesn't zoom by as fast as the work week did!  That being said, I'm pretty darn excited that the weekend is here already.  Hopefully I'll get some of the things done that I totally blew off doing last weekend.

Before today gets away from us, here's my five for today ~

1.  National Earth Day
Saturday is the celebration of Earth Day.  Get outside and enjoy some fresh air.  Plant some flowers or a garden.  Take a nature hike.  There's lots of fancy ways to make National Earth Day special, but at a bare minimum at least step outside, take a big deep breath and look around you.  We live in the most amazing place.  Let's all try, even for just a day, to help sustain this planet we call home.

2.  Born in China
Speaking of Earth Day, Disneynature has a movie opening today.  Here's what they have to say about their movie, "Disneynature, in its ongoing quest to bring the natural world to the big screen as never before, presents its most ambitious project to date, taking moviegoers on a grand journey into the wilds of China. “Born In China” follows the adventures of three animal families — the majestic panda, the savvy golden monkey and the elusive snow leopard.

Featuring stunning imagery, the film navigates the vast terrain—from the frigid mountains to the heart of the bamboo forest—on the wings of a red-crowned crane, showcasing remarkably intimate family moments captured on film for the first time ever.

See Born in China opening week and Disneynature will make a donation in your honor to World Wildlife Fund to benefit wild pandas and snow leopards."

Now that sounds like a movie you can take your entire family to!

3.  Starbuck Unicorn Frappacino
Okay, you've probably already seen this, but Starbuck's has a special Unicorn Frappacino available until Sunday, April 23.  This drink offers you flavor-changing, color-changing magic.  It starts off sweet and fruity and then, right as you are sucking on the straw, changes to a pleasantly sour taste.  I can't really imagine what "pleasantly sour" tastes like, but I believe I'll pass.  Have you had one?

4.  Free HBO and Cinemax Weekend on AT&T
Do you have AT&T as your cable provider?  If so, you might want to know from April 21 to April 24 they are offering a free preview of HBO and Cinemax.  Score!!  I'm really hoping that Pretty Little Lies will be available.  It's supposed to be a bit rainy this weekend.  Perfect to catch a movie (or two) on HBO.

5.  So true...
Bahaha funny cause it's true bless their little hearts:

Have a great weekend!  If things go as planned, I will have a very clean closet and lots to donate to the American Red Cross when they stop by my house for their pick up next weekend.  See you next week!

  1. Born in China looks really cute. I've been hearing about the Unicorn Frappicino; I couldn't get it even if I wanted to because it has WAY too much sugar for my diet. haha

And yes indeed, they siphon the energy right out of us. ;)

  10. I haven't heard of that Born in China movie, but it sounds so so good. I'm always impressed with the cinematography in nature films. It's so impressive to me that videographers spend hours, sometimes days, in these positions for moments of useable footage <3

I'm totally grossed out by the unicorn frap. I mean, the colors are pretty, but it's like sucking on a cup of sugar :) NO thanks!

    XOXO

  11. I heard about that unicorn thing on the radio, There is a barista that youtubed something about hating making them that was pretty funny. Check it out.

  15. Born in China looks really good! I didn't try the Starbucks unicorn drink, but my sister did. She said it tasted like a sour patch kid at first, and then cotton candy by the end. It looks fun but I think I'll stick to my coffee! :)

  16. Thanks for the movie suggestion, I'm gonna try and see that this afternoon. It looks cute. :)

Have you tried the unicorn frappucino and is it something they offer every year? I'm intrigued but man, no, I don't think my blood sugar could handle it. Lol!
Hope you're having a lovely weekend Penny! :)
