Five on Friday - March 2, 2018

Hello March!  Where did February go?!?  I'm enjoying the little bit of extra daylight everyday and am hoping the temperature continue to climb a bit too.

With no further ado, here's the first Five on Friday for March~

1.  90th Oscars
Sunday night you will find me reclined on the couch, sucking up every moment of the Oscars.  This year I've seen only 6 of the 9 Best Picture nominated films and unless I go crazy before Sunday evening, that will be my final tally.  I haven't seen Phantom Thread, Get Out or Call Me By Your Name.  Will you be watching?  Bring on the red carpet!!

2.  National Dress in Blue Day
Why would you dress in blue today, you ask?  It's to raise awareness of colon cancer.  Much like the pink ribbon represents those lost to breast cancer, a blue star honors the memory of those lost to colon cancer.  Screenings for colon cancer are important because there are usually no symptoms until its in advanced stages.  This puts the victims at higher risk.  So, schedule that screening if you are due!

3.  Misto Olive Oil Sprayer
Tired of running out of cooking spray right in the middle of making dinner?  I'm ordering one of these babies today!  The Misto Olive Oil Sprayer is reusable and environmentally friendly.  It gives you the convenience and health benefits of an aerosol sprayer in a more economical way.  Just fill it with your olive oil, pump the cap and spray away.  It can also be used with vinegars, lemon and lime juice, sherry or marsala wine.  Click HERE to get yours.
4.  Peeps Pancakes & Syrup
Looking for a new flavor of Peeps to put in your Easter baskets this year? Pancakes & Syrup flavored marshmallow chicks are available! If they aren't in your stores, Amazon has them HERE. Sounds like a pretty tasty breakfast option to me. Sound good to you?

5.   Weight gain.....

  2. Hah! Love the weight gain meme. Ah...so true. I'm excited for the Oscars. I've seen Call Me By Your Name and I LOVE it. I loved the book years and years ago when I first read it, so it was exciting to me that it became a movie. :)

  8. Ha! I love that last quote. I'm excited to watch the Oscars tonight. I love seeing what everyone is wearing. I honestly haven't seen most of the movies, but the few I've seen were fantastic. I also need one of those sprayers. What a genius idea! Hope you're enjoying your weekend!

  9. Hey Miss Penny,
Peeps makes pancakes?!? Whattttt?! I’ve said it before and I’m sure you’ll hear it plenty more - the variety and assortment of flavors and the like in the U.S. is crazy! We don’t get half of this stuff up here in Canada!
I didn’t get to watching the Oscars because I was out pet sitting, but I loved some of the dresses. I love love loved Jennifer Garner’s dress; it looked stunning on her and totally her color. :)
Hope you’re having a great week Penny!
