Five on Friday - February 8, 2019

Happy Friday friends!  I'm headed home later today after being out of town for work since last Sunday.  To be honest, because I worked on Sunday I've had a hard time keeping track of what day it was all week.  But I know today is Friday and that means some Five on Friday action.  Here you go ~

1.  Magnetic Mailbox Cover
I love dressing my mailbox up for the holidays.  Several years ago I started my collection of vinyl mailbox covers and, several years later, I am happy to report that they haven't faded and still look great!  The magnetic strips underneath hold it snug to the mailbox and keeps the cover snug even when the wind is trying its' best to rip it off.   With Prime, you still have time to get one on your mailbox before Valentine's Day.

If you want to get a jump on St. Patrick's Day, here are a few fun options for that holiday as well!

2.  Valentines for Lego Lovers
Do you have a Lego lover in your life that needs a valentine?  There are some adorable Lego options out there.  When my son was young, I loved getting him a little something for Valentine's Day and one of these would have been perfect!

3.  Cold Pursuit
Liam Neeson is hitting the big screen this weekend with his new action-packed thriller, Cold Pursuit.  Liam had some bad press this week, but I think I'd still like to see the movie.  Apparently it's a remake of the 2014 Norwegian film “In Order of Disappearance.”  Here's the synopsis from Rotten Tomatoes:
"COLD PURSUIT, an action thriller infused with irreverent humor, stars Liam Neeson as Nels Coxman, a family man whose quiet life with his wife (Laura Dern) is upended following the mysterious death of their son. Nels' search for justice turns into a vengeful hunt for Viking (Tom Bateman), a drug lord he believes is connected to the death. As one by one of Viking's associates "disappear," Nels goes from upstanding citizen to ice-cold vigilante, letting nothing -- and no one -- get in his way."

4. Reese's Puff Hearts
Do you want to serve your family a fun heart-shaped breakfast on Valentine's Day but know you won't have a lot of time to spend preparing one? How about these Reese's Puff Hearts! The hearts have the same peanut-butter and chocolate-flavor as the regular Reese's Puff cereal, but some people who have tried them swear they have a stronger peanut butter flavor.   I would be pretty happy being served a bowl of these Valentine's morning!

5.  Interesting....

Have a great weekend everyone!  We're having dinner with some friends tomorrow night at one of my favorite restaurants, Olive + Oak.  Other than that, I'm hoping for a low key couple of days so I can get my suitcase unpacked and get organized a bit for next week.  I do have a recipe coming on Tuesday that you are not going to want to miss!  See you later!

  1. That movie looks good. And Laura Dern could definitely be my valentine. I'd even have heart-shaped cereal with her by candlelight.

  4. That Reese’s cereal looks amazing! Thank you for sharing; I used to get tha cereal as a treat when I was young 😊 also I didn’t know mailbox covers existed but these are really cute and I love that they are magnetic. The new Liam movie looks really interesting but really have to wonder what in the hell was going through his head when he gave that interview.

Xoxo and hope you are having a great weekend! ❤️

  5. My boys love Reese's Puffs and Legos. One of my holiday traditions is buying the seasonal cereal. I may have to stop by Target and see if they have any.

I hope you have a great day.
