Five on Friday - January 1, 2021

Happy New Year!  We made it through 2020 and there's new hope that 2021 will be a better year.  Glad you are starting your year by stopping by to see my first Five on Friday for the year.

1.  Love Life
We signed up for HBO Max this week and have been enjoying several new shows.  My favorite so far is Love Life, with Anna Kendricks.  In this romantic comedy, she plays Darby Carter.  Darby is in search of love throughout her 20s and 30s.  It has a bit of a Sex and the City flair.  I binged all 10 episodes in one day and I'm not even sorry about it.  Have you seen it?  If not, add it to your to be watched list!

Santa brought me just what I wanted this year for Christmas - a Ninja Foodi!  This little baby does it all - air fry, air roast, air broil, bake, toast bagels and toast, dehydrate, along with keeping things warm.  We had an air fryer, but every time we wanted to use it, it had to come out of storage and then return there.  This new Ninja folds up and fits on our counter.  So there's no having to get out an appliance to cook.  It's already out!  And the air fryer is larger than our old one.  Can you tell how excited I am to have this!  Cooking in 2021 is going to be so fun!

3.  Air Fryer Times
Speaking of air frying, did you get an air fryer and now you have no idea what to do with it?  Have an air fryer but not sure of the cooking times?  Well, this graphic is for you!

This is the time of year many of us will vow to eat better, but how are you going to do that?  The new book Eat Smarter could answer many of the questions you might have about your food choices.  Here's the summary from Amazon ~
Lose weight, boost your metabolism, and start living a happier life with this transformative 30-day plan for healthy eating from the host of the hit podcast The Model Health Show.

Food is complicated. It's a key controller of our state of health or disease. It's a social centerpiece for the most important moments of our lives. It's the building block that creates our brain, enabling us to have thought, feeling, and emotion. It's the very stuff that makes up our bodies and what we see looking back at us in the mirror. Food isn't just food. It's the thing that makes us who we are. So why does figuring out what to eat feel so overwhelming?

In Eat Smarter, nutritionist, bestselling author, and #1-ranked podcast host Shawn Stevenson breaks down the science of food with a 30-day program to help you lose weight, reboot your metabolism and hormones, and improve your brain function. Most importantly, he explains how changing what you eat can transform your life by affecting your ability to make money, sleep better, maintain relationships, and be happier. Eat Smarter will empower you and make you feel inspired about your food choices, not just because of the impact they have on your weight, but because the right foods can help make you the best version of yourself.

5.  Me this week...

Hope your year is off to a great start!  Have a wonderful weekend!

  1. My mother in law was telling me about your new appliance (though she couldn't remember the name) and how it could replace a few of the appliances I have out on our counters.

  2. I haven't gotten on the air fryer band wagon but one of my daughter's loves hers. I am still not comfy with my Instapot...feels like cheating on my crock pot. And my crock pot is my BFF.

Even my leggings are screaming over here. And yet I am sitting here wanting a bedtime snack. Tomorrow is the day, though. Tomorrow. Yup, tomorrow.
