Weekending - January 15, 2021

Happy Monday!  I know many of you are off work today to celebrate Martin Luther King Day.  I'm not one of you that are off, but that's not going to stop me from reflecting on some of his powerful words.

Now let's rewind the weekend and see what went down ~

Friday night we had dinner with our son and daughter-in-law.  I'm so, so thankful they are in our bubble!  After a long work week, it was just what we needed to start the weekend off on the right foot.  We played cards and watched the Blues game.  Eric enjoyed the company of their cat too!

Saturday Eric headed to work and I got busy putting away the rest of the Christmas decorations.  I took a little break mid-morning and signed up for the new Discovery + channel.  There were several shows that I thought we would enjoy and I wasn't wrong.  The first show I decided to try was Magnolia Table with Joanna Gaines.  Loved it!  She seems so down to earth which made her show very enjoyable.

I started watching Bobby Flay and Giada in Italy but stopped about half way through because I knew Eric would want to see it too.  The first episode had them in Rome and so many of the scenes brought back wonderful memories of our trip there a few years ago.

Saturday afternoon I did a little craft project.  It's not 100% finished, but it is so close.  The plan is to put these little rolling pins on my Valentine Three-Tier Stand.  They were super easy to paint.  The lettering is cut vinyl using my Silhouette.  Now I just need to put some Modge Podge over the top.

Sunday was a laid back, relaxing day.  The mantel was just looking so bare without all the Christmas decorations so we hauled out the Valentine's stuff and made it look a bit more festive.  I'll be sharing more Valentine's decorations soon!

It was cold and icky outside making me crave some comfort food.  So I decided to make a big pot of ham and beans.  Comfort food with a side of cornbread.  Delicious!

We spent the afternoon Zooming with our friend Linda while watching the Kansas City Chiefs beat Cleveland.  What a game!

And just like that, the weekend is over and it's Monday already.  Hope your week is off to a great start.  See you back soon!
