Weekending - June 17, 2022

Hope everyone had a great Father's Day weekend!  We sure did.  Here's the rewind ~

Friday night we decided to stay in and watch a movie.  I picked the new Father of the Bride movie on HBO with Andy Garcia.  Neither of us loved it.  Even saying we liked it would be pushing it.

Saturday we went over to our son and daughter-in-law's to celebrate Father's Day with them.  We had a great time hanging out in the pool.  They almost have us talked into getting a DVC (Disney Vacation Club) membership.  Of course, it doesn't take much to get us excited about getting one because we love Disney so much!

When we left their house, we ran a few errands before picking up Texas Roadhouse and bringing it home.  We plopped down in front of the television to watch another movie.  Eric had never seen You've Got Mail so that was our pick for the evening.  I've seen that movie no less than a dozen times and still love it.  Eric loved it too!

Sunday morning we got up bright and early to get ready to go to my parents' house.  My brother was grilling and we were bringing the side dishes.  I fixed confetti corn and can't wait to share the recipe with you later on the blog!  It's the perfect summer BBQ side dish.

There are always lots of activities going on at my parents when all my nephews and niece are around.  Dad had some gunny sacks ready for them to practice racing in.

Bicycling is also a favorite activity that keeps them busy ~

It was the perfect day is sit under the shade trees and watch the kids play!  We are having a couple of the kids visit the first week in July and I can't wait!

Sunday night we caught up on some chores around the house and got ready for the week ahead.  I had book club tonight (Monday) so I needed to finish reading the assigned book.  This month's selection was The Survivors by Jane Harper.  It got a not-so-enthusiastic review from our book club members.  I was just glad I got finished with it!

This week I'll be sharing our July 4th tiered tray and the recipe for the confetti corn on the blog.  Pop back in to see those posts!

  1. That does sound like such a fun weekend! I watched the new Father of the Bride movie and was so disappointed in it too.
