Oh my goodness - am I ready for a weekend! The first week back after vacation is always long and this one was no exception. I've been working on my vacation posts and hope to have them out soon. But today, I'm sharing my five for this week ~
1. Super Bowl Sunday
We are so pumped about the Super Bowl on Sunday! When the Rams picked up and deserted St. Louis, we turned our loyalty to the Kansas City Chiefs. They have been so exciting to watch! I sure hope they bring their best game on Sunday when they take on the Eagles in the big game. It's not just the game I'm looking forward to. The spread of food is a close second to the game! And then there are the commercials. We'll be going over to our son and daughter-in-law's and I'm excited to see the game and eat way too much!
JoJo Moyes latest book was released on Tuesday and it went straight on my TBR list. I fell in love with her book Me Before You, so now I want to read anything she writes. Here's the summary for this one ~
Nisha Cantor lives the globetrotting life of the seriously wealthy, until her husband announces a divorce and cuts her off. Nisha is determined to hang onto her glamorous life. But in the meantime, she must scramble to cope—she doesn’t even have the shoes she was, until a moment ago, standing in.
That’s because Sam Kemp—in the bleakest point of her life—has accidentally taken Nisha’s gym bag. But Sam hardly has time to worry about a lost gym bag—she’s struggling to keep herself and her family afloat. When she tries on Nisha’s six-inch high Christian Louboutin red crocodile shoes, the resulting jolt of confidence makes her realize something must change—and that thing is herself.
Full of Jojo Moyes’ signature humor, brilliant storytelling, and warmth, Someone Else’s Shoes is a story about how just one little thing can suddenly change everything.
MARLOWE, a gripping noir crime thriller set in late 1930’s Bay City, centers around a brooding, down on his luck detective; Philip Marlowe, played by Liam Neeson, who is hired to find the ex-lover of a glamorous heiress (Diane Kruger), daughter of a well-known movie star (Jessica Lange). The disappearance is the first twist in a series of bewildering events, and soon Marlowe is embroiled in a deadly investigation and web of lies that he’s determined to bring to light.
4. National Make a Friend Day
Celebrate National Make a Friend Day on Saturday by reaching out to someone you would like to be friends with. Friends add so much to our lives! We can all use more friends so use this day to add a few to your life. Good luck!
5. What's your poison??
Hope you have a great weekend! I have a wedding meeting on Saturday with a new bride. Can't wait to start working with her on her wedding journey! Then Sunday it's all about the football game! Hope to see you back next week.
That book sound so good!
ReplyDeletePinned that book to run by the book club. Always glad for new recommendations. Hope your Super Bowl was great fun.
