Weekending - July 10, 2015

Summer has arrived in St. Louis!  After a week of cool temps and lots (and lots!) of rain, this weekend we hit temps in the mid 90s and the humidity was heavy in the air.  Honestly, it was a welcome change.  It would have been great if the temperatures were a bit lower, but it is summer so what should we expect.

I made it home Friday night after being away all week at a work event.  I barely got my suitcase carried in the house when Eric and I loaded up to head to the Muny.  The sun had come out in the afternoon so we didn't have to worry too much about getting rained on like the previous two weeks.  Holiday Inn was the play being performed and it was full of great dancing.

Saturday morning I met with the bride I'm helping, Suzy, and her mom, Debbie, to finish up the her wedding projects.  The wedding is two weeks away and we have (dare I say it!) all the projects she wanted done for her wedding finished.  I have NEVER been done with wedding preparations two weeks ahead of time!  Suzy has been truly a joy to work with and I'm giddy with excitement for her big day to get here.  It's going to be beautiful!!  You better believe I'll be showing you all the details of this wedding as soon as it occurs.  :)

In the afternoon, I did a little shopping and on my way home I was thinking how I wished I was going to the Train concert that night.  Then it hit me -- why wasn't I going to the Train concert?!?

I called my friend Sherri and she was more than game to go.  Eric opted out, so Sherri and I headed to the outdoor venue to attend our second Train concert together.  We had seen them a couple years ago in Chicago and were excited to see them again.  The temperatures had cooled slightly and there was a breeze blowing.  Sitting outside for the evening was going to be wonderful!  Parking next to us in the parking lot were some fun people from Taylorville, Illinois and we quickly became friends.  They shared their temporary tattoos with us.  Love them!!  Ordering some from Amazon immediately!

Matt Nathanson got the evening started.  He has a talent for working the crowd.  I didn't know a lot about him, but now I'm anxious to find out more.  When Matt left the stage, The Fray stepped in to entertain us.  Then Train!!  Fun, fun night!

Sunday morning I got up and took a walk and then a little bike ride.  It's been a long time since I had been on my bike and it felt good to take her for a spin.  My bike was a gift from my friend Tracy and her name is Chelsey.  Tracy acquires old bikes, fixes them up and gives them to her friends.  It was my lucky day a couple years ago when my name made the top spot on her list and she delivered my bike to me.  Every one of her bikes come with a basket, a bell and a pinwheel.  Her only requirement -- you have to name it.  LOVE MY BIKE!!  Thanks Tracy for giving me the joy of riding a bike!

The rest of the day was spent relaxing.  Eric had to go to work after lunch.  After he left, I caught up on some taped TV (oh Kaitlyn you are something!), read some magazines and had popcorn for dinner with some sea salt caramel Haagen-Dazs gelato for dessert.  Love days like this!

Mondays come too quickly!  Hope your weekend was a great one and the week ahead is full of good things.  Thanks for stopping by -- see you again soon.

Check out what others were up to this weekend.
