True confession: This post almost didn't happen. I'm off work this Friday thanks to the holiday so that means five days of work needs to be completed in four. Sometimes real life just gets in the way of the fun stuff (like blogging), but thanks to the St. Louis Blues having a late televised hockey game I'm up later than normal and thought I'd multi task while watching the game. Please excuse any typos!
I've been doing a lot of thinking about 3,500. Do you know why I've been thinking about 3,500? It's not the amount we won in the lottery (I wish!) or the number of new blog followers I got this week (again, I wish!). It's roughly the number of calories in a pound.
One of my goals this year was to drop a little weight. Was this one of your goals too? So I've been thinking a lot about 3,500 because to loose a pound of weight, you roughly have to either eat 3,500 calories less or burn 3,500 calories more in exercising. DISCLAIMER: I am NOT a dietitian, physician or any other type of "ian". I'm just a chubby girl trying to drop a few pounds, so my comments and methods are probably not approved by anyone official.
Since exercising isn't that fun for me and I love to eat, finding a way to make the balance between the two be -3,500 can be a true
This baby gives me a little reminder every hour if I haven't taken my goal number of steps for that period. It also tells me how many calories I've burned in a day, how many flights of stairs I taken, how many minutes of activity I've done, plus more. See why I love it! If you're interested in one, click HERE to check it out. I loved mine so much, I got Eric one too. Now we work together to get our goal number of steps per day and compare our activity minutes. Honestly, it's been kind of fun challenging each other to get in our steps.
Because the black band really wasn't my favorite thing, I found a couple bands on Amazon that were excellent replacements. Here's the ones I have ~
I might resemble these ~
All in all, this gadget has helped me exercise more and increase my activity. Yes, I love it. Now am just wondering why it took me so long to hop on the Fitbit bandwagon.
What are you thinking about today? Would love to hear from you!

Best of luck with your fitbit! I LOVE mine! But it's the worst when you forget to wear one for the day so try to put it in a place where you'll remember each morning!
ReplyDeleteI have one of the older style Fitbits and I've kind of given up on it, but I really would like to try wearing one again, especially a pretty rose gold one like that one up there!

ReplyDeleteI love my Fitbit but it doesn't track spinning correctly. So I'm in the market for one that might.

ReplyDeleteI have a FitBit, but I need to get it looked at because the watch/time part isn't right and it keeps happening. At any rate, it is a nice way to know that you need to move more. :)
ReplyDeleteMy fitbit is my BFF! Just a minute ago I got the "Lets take a stroll" notification and decided to take the dogs out while I was at it! It really does become your cheerleader! And participating in the challenges is super fun too!
ReplyDeleteHahahahaa, I am equally obsessed with my Fitbit. I was SO happy to visit my sister in DC this weekend. I got 20,000 steps yesterday just walking around the city!
