1. Juneteenth
What is Juneteenth? The History.com explains it like this "Juneteenth (short for “June Nineteenth”) marks the day when federal troops arrived in Galveston, Texas in 1865 to take control of the state and ensure that all enslaved people be freed. The troops’ arrival came a full two and a half years after the signing of the Emancipation Proclamation. Juneteenth honors the end to slavery in the United States and is considered the longest-running African American holiday.". With everything going on in the world today, what a great day to recognize and have conversations with your children. Looking for a way to celebrate? Check out PBS for their Juneteenth Jamboree.
2. Outdaughtered and Sweet Home Sextuplets
A couple of my favorites shows premiered their new seasons this week - Outdaughtered and Sweet Home Sextuplets. Do you watch them? Each show is a peek inside a super-sized family of multiples. These two TLC highlights how the Busbys and the Waldrops live life. And what a life it is! Watching an episode of a fun way to end the day!
3. Hamilton Beach Indoor Grill
Eric and I have been doing a lot more cooking at home since COVID hit and one of the appliances that we have fallen in love with is this Hamilton Beach Indoor Grill. Hamburgers are amazing cooked on this baby! I've also used it to grill hearts of romaine lettuce (yes, lettuce) brushed with garlic flavored olive oil with a sprinkle of salt and pepper. The best part is how easy it cleans up. Most of the pieces go straight in the dishwasher. It doesn't get much better than that!
4. Readers
Ok, I've started using readers. And since I can never seem to find my pair when I need them I decided to stock up. Amazon has this set of five pairs (1 Blue Light Reading Glasses(yellowish lense) / 1 Sun Reader(black lense) / 3 Reading Glasses). Perfect! Now I have them in every room and a pair is close at hand when I'm in need of reading something. Best $17 I've spent in a while.
Have a great weekend. Are you celebrating Father's Day on Sunday? We will be heading to my home town to see my dad on Sunday and going to our son's house on Saturday to celebrate Eric. The weekend will be filled with love and I'm excited to get it started. See you next week!

The napping meme is absolutely hilarious!!
ReplyDeleteOOh! I love that most of the pieces of the grill are dishwasher safe. I hate when I buy a new kitchen tool only to find that it needs to be washed by hand. I'm still not sure what we'll be doing for father's day. My husband was talking about going fishing so we'll see..
ReplyDeleteOh WOW, love the napping tip!!
ReplyDeleteThose readers look like a good deal! I'm going to order them
