1. National Missouri Day
Being from the great state of Missouri, I think it's only fitting that I share today is National Missouri Day. If you're starting to think about your family vacay for this summer, put Missouri - and more specifically St. Louis - on your list of places to consider. In St. Louis, you could catch a baseball game at Busch Stadium, wonder around one of the best zoos in the world and spend a day at Six Days going on as many thrill rides as your heart desires. And then there's the Gateway Arch! Ride the tram to the top for a spectacular view of the entire city. There's the City Museum, History Museum, Science Center, Planetarium -- the list goes on and on. Seriously, check it out. It's a great place to visit!
2. Qwixx
So over New Year's my friend TW introduced us to a new game. Immediately upon getting home I ordered it! You can play this game with 2-8 players and it's for ages 8 and over. What I particularly loved about this game is you can play your board on each person's turn. It keeps you engaged, but it isn't so hard that you can't play and have a nice conversation at the same time. If you're looking for a new game to play on these cold winter days, Qwixx would be a great addition to your game closet! Click HERE to check it out.
3. Made for More
How many of you have read Rachel Hollis's book Girl Wash Your Face? (OK - if the answer was no, STOP EVERYTHING, order the book by clicking HERE, and start reading it!) Rachel has such a positive message and after reading her book it truly inspired me. Rachel's Made for More is running at a variety of theaters on Wednesday, January 9 only. Here's the synoposis:
Returning to cinemas for a special encore presentation, Rachel Hollis presents: Made for More comes to cinemas nationwide January 2 and 9, featuring an all-new, exclusive coaching session. An uplifting mix of encouragement, community, laughs and kick-you-in-the-rear motivation that will have you ready to reach for more? Mama of four, CCO/founder of The Hollis Company and The Chic Site, Rachel Hollis has been called “Tina Fey meets Tony Robbins for women” and is taking audiences on an inside look at chasing the biggest of dreams. Rachel’s fierce spirit and bold belief that she’s here to change the world will inspire you to believe you can do the same – believing you’re enough and will reignite those dreams you’ve been carrying around in your heart for years. Whether you’ve been an OG since day one or this is your first time joining the tribe, this event will light a fire in your heart.
Every time I get together with my friends I learn something new and excited. On cookie day, I learned from my Kansas City friends that The Pioneer Woman has a magazine. A MAGAZINE!! Who knew!?! I can't wait to get my hands on one of these and order my very own subscription. Would you like to have a subscription also? Click HERE to get one. I can't wait to see what Ree has in her magazine pages.
5. Goals for this year....
Have a fabulous weekend. I'm hoping to start taking down our Christmas decorations. We are also having dinner with friends tonight and I have girls night out tomorrow. Should be a fun few days! Pop in next week to see how it went down. On Tuesday next week, I'll also be sharing a craft project that lots of people would love to have and anyone can make. You won't want to miss it!

If you love Pioneer Woman as much as it appears you should really go to Pawhuska, OK to see her empire. Its a fun trip!
ReplyDeleteUhm, I didn't know that the Pioneer Woman has her own magazine either. Looks amazing! I absolutely LOVE her recipes and haven't made a bad one yet. Also that game sounds like fun!
ReplyDeleteSheepish. I haven't read "Girl, Wash Your Face" yet. I KNOW! It's on the list but I'll bump it up :) Hope you have a great weekend, and Happy New Year, Penny!
This was a fun read and I learned so much. I didn't know Pioneer Woman had a magazine. That would be a great gift for my mom and I need to get that game! I need to take down the Christmas trees and decor this weekend too.
ReplyDeleteSt. Louis is such a fun city, and I love The Pioneer Woman magazine :)
ReplyDeleteOooh! We're always on the lookout for a fun game suggestion!
ReplyDeleteMy kids love Qwixx! It's really great to bring on trips. We have a great toy store near us that has the neatest games in these small boxes (or smaller!) that are easy to throw in your purse in case you're stuck waiting for a long time somewhere. And I keep seeing St. Louis mentioned as a vacation spot and we've been planning out a summer road trip. Missouri would likely be a full day of driving for us to get there, so it's reasonable. I might have to really look into it!
ReplyDeleteThat game sounds fun! I always love to add games to our game closet. That quote at the end is hilarious...and too true for me. But, I'm working on it this year. Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteGirl, is on my list to read this month. Need to get busy, I guess. My Nook just gave out this morning so will have to read it some other way. But I am going to get started tonight!
ReplyDeleteThat graphic is so funny. My clothes are so darn tight. Terrible. We have GOT to get our behinds in the gym tomorrow and back on Weight Watchers. Has been hard to eat well with the worries over my mom and daughter. Have hardly seen a veggie in weeks.
Qwixx looks really fun! I'll have to look into that one! I like dice games. And serious LOL to the last one. Pretty much where I'm at! Hope you had a great weekend Penny!
ReplyDeleteI have not read any of Rachel Hollis' books but have toyed with it, but I hear they hae a bit of a religious undertone to them and when I found that out, it turned me off every so slight. I love her concepts and how simply she views it.
ReplyDeleteI've been seeing that goal to lose weight meme everywhere - hilarious!! LOL
Hope you're having a good week my friend. xo
