Hello! Has everyone recovered from the weekend? I enjoyed having a three-day weekend, but even with the extra day off, it flew by! We had gorgeous weather and it makes me so excited for spring and summer to finally be here.
Some of the flowers around the house started popping open. A part of me wanted to cut them and bring them inside. Another part wanted to leave them right where they were. Do you cut your fresh flowers and bring them inside?
Friday I was on a mission to get new furniture for our patio. I had done extensive research looking online and had visited several stores in person. When we finally decided which set we were going to buy, the only store that had it in stock was 50 miles away. Bless Eric's heart - as soon as he was off work to drove out to make the purchase. They wouldn't deliver and not all the boxes would fit in our car so I phoned a friend that I work with who lived near the store to help us pick it up. She so graciously met us at the store and loaded up what wouldn't fit in our car. Today she brought it to work and we transferred it to our vehicle. Talk about a true friend! We are so blessed to have people like that in our lives. So...we have the furniture but it's not all assembled just yet. You better believe that as soon as it is, you'll be seeing our patio makeover!
Saturday turned into the day to go to the grocery store and get some other random errands accomplished. I wanted to give the people we were sharing Easter with sourdough loaves so I got that started. We watched our church's Easter service online. The day seemed to slip by so quickly! Before I knew it, it was evening and the day was over.
Sunday morning I was up bright and early to start baking bread and making a few other things we would be taking to our son and daughter-in-law's for Easter. We would be seeing our daughter-in-law's parents and sister's family. This is the first time we had been together in months and I couldn't wait to catch up with them!
We had one little one with us for Easter and it was such a joy to watch him hunt eggs and play with his new toys. Eric and he became quick buddies!
One of the things I made for Easter was strawberry bread. It was a huge hit and I'll be sharing the recipe with you soon.
Hope you had a wonderful Easter! We are busily getting ready to entertain a house guest in a couple weeks and for the first time in a year, I'm excitedly doing things around the house in preparation. Finally feels like things are getting back to normal and it feels so good!
Oh wow; that strawberry bread looks amazing! What a fun Easter.
