Weekending - May 1, 2015

Man, do I love weekends!!  This one was great in so many ways.  We had excellent weather here in St. Louis and it was so nice to be able to spend so much time outside.

The weekend started with girls night out on Friday.  Sherri had gotten us all gift certificates to get pedicures for Christmas and we cashed them in Friday night.  If you're ever trying to come up with a gift idea for a group of girlfriends, keep the gift certificate idea in mind.  So here we are (except Tracy who was playing photographer), in the special room sipping our wine and enjoying a little snack.  Conversation was great -- I just love my friends!!

After our toes were looking fabulous, we headed to one of our favorite eateries -- Peel.  We shared an appetizer of pretzel balls and one of their wood stone pizzas.

I had gotten a call late on Friday afternoon asking if I wanted Cardinal tickets for the game on Saturday afternoon.  Well, you bet I did!!  So grateful to get a call like that!  I grabbed Kayla and Ian and we headed to the game and enjoyed not only a Cards win, but the gorgeous weather.

After the game, we met Eric for a little dinner at Rosalita's.  With Cinco de Mayo right around the corner, we wanted to get our Mexican on.  With the beautiful weather, we chose to sit outside and enjoy the band they had playing on their patio.  Fun times!!

Sunday I hosted a little family dinner.  Since my weekend had been pretty busy, I decided to go totally easy on the cooking.  I purchased fried chicken and bought a couple sides at Sams.  The only thing I did was whip up some appetizers and fruit salad.  It was wonderful enjoying the day with family and catching up with two of my cousins that I hadn't seen in several years.  So glad they were able to incorporate a stop at my house on their vacation.

Did a little feeding the fish before everyone arrived.

We didn't get a picture before Ian and Kayla had to leave, but here's everyone except them and Eric.  Eric was still working so he missed the picture taking too.

Sunday night, Eric and I enjoyed watching our favorite chef, Simone, on Food Network's Spring Baking Challenge.  Go Simone!!  It is amazing to us how much these bakers get done with only 5 minutes left on the timer.

We have a ton to get done this week before we head out to New Orleans later in the week.  Yes, we are a bit excited about heading out on vacation!  We've lined up the house sitter and now need to work on the packing.

Have a wonderful Monday!  I'll be sharing one of my appetizer recipes on Tuesday - hope you can stop back by and check it out.

Check out what others were up to this weekend.
