Mantel Full of Pumpkins and Fall Feels

This weekend, I pulled out the bins of fall decor and got to work giving our home a seasonal refresh. There’s just something about pumpkins, leaves, and warm tones that instantly make everything feel cozy. Today I’m sharing a peek at our mantel, all dressed up for fall!

I love how the eucalyptus garland worked with the fall leaf garland—it’s like they were meant to be together! The combo gave the mantel just the right amount of fullness and that layered, cozy look that feels perfectly fall.

The big pumpkin picture came from Hobby Lobby a few years ago.  I'm so glad I snagged it because I've used it every year since then!

From one end of the mantel to the other, there’s no shortage of fall charm! Leaves spill across the top, and pumpkins of all shapes and sizes are scattered throughout, creating the perfect touch of autumn magic.

I couldn’t resist adding a little more fall magic below the fireplace too! A few pumpkins and cozy accents on the hearth helped complete the look and make everything feel warm and welcoming.

I’ll definitely be a little sad to take this one down—it’s been such a cozy reminder of everything I love about fall. But with Christmas right around the corner, I’m already dreaming up what’s coming next!

2024 Front Porch

Last weekend I took down our sunflower wreath and put up our fall one.  I wanted to touch up our side planters and panicked a bit when I walked into Michael's and there wasn't so much as a single pumpkin to be had.  WHAT?!?  It's only the middle of October!  Okay, note to self:  finish buying fall decorations by August.

Luckily, I ran over to At Home and they had me covered.  I found a leaf garland and metal pumpkins that would serve my purpose.

We've had the black planters for years, and I love updating them with seasonal and holiday decor. To keep them stable during strong winds, we've placed several bricks at the bottom.  They were a great purchase!

The wreath is new this year.  I picked it up from a local craft Facebook group.  The creator, Brittany Liberton, did a great job!

The orange buffalo plaid rug (available HERE) adds a vibrant pop of color as well.  I picked it up from Amazon.  Two of the three pumpkins on each side of the door are real and one is fake.  Can you tell which one isn't real?

After my small panic attack, I think I pulled off a nice fall porchscape.  I'm immediately going to start thinking about Christmas before all those decorations are gone too!

2024 Fall Mantel

Welcome!  It's time for Thinking Out Loud Thursday where I share something I'm thinking about and invite you to link up and do the same.  Let's dive in ~

The calendar has marked the turn, and now fall is upon us, quietly settling in with its cool breeze and changing leaves.  Our mantel made the change this week and today I'd like to share it with you.

This year we decided to pile on the pumpkins!  We laid out a garland strand of eucalyptus and put a strand of lighted leaves on top.  Then carefully layered in the pumpkins.

The leaf-shaped string lights give off such a beautiful glow when the room lights are off, and I absolutely love the ambiance they create!

Harvest Haven: Scarecrow Window Delight

Thanks for stopping by Thinking Out Loud Thursday, where I share something I’m thinking about and invite you to link up and do the same.

Today I’m sharing our newest tiered tray design.  This past weekend I finally took the time to drag out our tubs of pumpkins and fall decorations.  We decided a trip to Hobby Lobby was in order to see if a new theme popped out at us.  It did!  Scarecrows caught our attention and we brought some home with us.

Scarecrows are designed to keep birds away from farmers' crops.  I’m not sure our scarecrows are scary enough to keep anything away, but they are adorable in our window!

I'm excited to have a new theme to work with.  We picked up several scarecrows, but I'll keep an eye out for them now and next year's window will have even more.

I have a feeling this window decor is going to stay until it's time to deck with space with Christmas decorations!

2022 Fall Mantel

It's beginning to feel a lot like Fall around here!  This week we've been able to sleep with the windows open at night and it's a bit nippy in the mornings when we wake up.  I've also dug out a couple sweaters and some boots to wear to work.  Since we are moving into the heart of Autumn, I thought it was time for the mantel to get a little facelift for the season too!  That's what I'm thinking about today for Thinking Out Loud Thursday!

I wasn't really feeling like jumping straight to Halloween, so I thought we would do a little pumpkin transition.  A trip to Hobby Lobby later, I found a couple pictures that fit the theme and went from there.

The picture with the saying is something we should all remember.  Fall is proof that change is beautiful!

Everything else on the mantel came straight from our stash of fall decorations we had in the basement.

The theme carried through to each side of the hearth.

Now that the mantel has embraced the transition away from summer, I'll start working on the rest of the house!  😊

Weekending -- The One Before Halloween

Boy -- this was an action packed weekend and it was a blast!  The weather played right into our hands with temperatures in the high 70s/low 80s.  It was so nice to have the sun out -- especially considering it's the end of October and you could walk around in short sleeves.

We kicked off the weekend Friday night by seeing the play Dirty Dancing.  Now, I usually love a good musical.  This one honestly was a bit disappointing.  Don't get me wrong, I loved hearing the songs from the original movie and scenes that made me reminisce how cool I thought Patrick Swayze was.  But something was just lackluster.  Despite the performance, we still walked away at the end of the night with fun memories.  Anyone else seen it?  What are your thoughts?

Saturday Eric and I decided to grab some lunch at Wasabi Sushi Bar.  This place has the freshest sushi around and we love eating there.  They have locations in downtown St. Louis, Edwardsville and Fairview Heights.

We swung by the site of the new Home Goods store just to see if they might be open early, but no such luck.  I had to wait until Sunday for the doors to be unlocked.  So excited to finally have one of these stores close to me!!

Saturday night Sherri, Tracy and I headed to the Central West End for their Halloween party -- and a party it was!  We stopped by The Tap House to start the evening.  This place has about 480 different beers from at least 25 different countries on hand.  Even someone like me who doesn't care for beer was able to find one I liked!

They have an amazing costume contest with the winner taking home $1,000.  It was fun to see so much creativity on the costume department.  We ran into some pretty cool get ups.
Travelocity Guy was there.
And so was Uncle Eddie

On Sunday, Eric and I headed to Kimmswick, Missouri for their annual Apple Butter Festival.  And so did about a million other people.  It was CROWDED!!  We didn't stay very long.  The highlight was the drive down and back.  The fall leaves were beautiful and seeing them made the trip worthwhile.

We ended the night with having Ian and Kayla over for dinner.  I love seeing these two!  Dinner was fun.  I finally tried the crack potatoes recipe I had been seeing everywhere.  If you haven't tried these yet, you're really missing something.  They are G-O-O-D!  I'll be sharing the recipe for the salad later this week.

It's hard to believe that this is the last week in October.  When I walked in Walmart today I noticed their sign saying there are only 60 days until Christmas.  Really?!?!  Hope you are able to make the most of your week and enjoy the last week of the month.

Check out the below blogs to see what they were up to this weekend.
