Thinking Out Loud Thursday - April's Fool Edition

Happy Thursday guys!  We're almost to the weekend and I, for one, can hardly wait to see it arrive.  We had a wonderful Easter weekend and we're still recovering (hence the lack of posts this week).  It was so much fun having my family here -- lots of babies and lots of fun!

We're glad you stopped by today for some Thinking Out Loud Thursday.  Today I'm thinking about tomorrow - April Fool's Day.  Do you have some "fools" up your sleeve to bring out?  If not, I thought I'd give you a few.

One of my favorites that I played on my mom quite a bit was the old rubber band around the sprayer trick.  Easy to pull off - just wrap a rubber band around the sprayer until it is compressed enough for water to spray out.  Thank heavens my mom was fairly mild tempered!

The result looks something like this:

I saw this beauty on the Martha Stewart website.  Mix in some blue (or any color) food coloring with your milk and watch your kids eyes when they pour it out.

Another one straight from Martha is this gem -- switch your spouse's drawer contents.  Hopefully they will notice before they try putting their underwear over their head thinking it's a t-shirt.

Here's one for your coworkers:

Do you have any April Fools Day pranks you do at your house?  Would love to hear about them!

  2. On a side note, April fool's day was our rehearsal dinner for our wedding, and we wanted to plan a prank, but ran out of time to get it together. I can't remember what we were thinking of doing, but it was elaborate...

  3. Oh my, I don't think a few of those would be funny, especially the water! The donuts, absolutely, I think I may have to try that one at work.

  5. My aunt and uncle used to dye the milk and pancakes when we were little and would stay over at their house for Valentine's or St. Patrick's day and tell us that Cupid or a leprechaun snuck into the house and must have done it. Of course we knew better but it was sure fun!

  6. That one with the donuts box is hilarious! I also saw one going around Facebook where they wrapped grapes in chocolate wrappers. I think my boys would be pretty mad :)

  9. I don't really engage in any April Fool's tricks. I work with kids, so fielding their attempts all day long is exhausting in and or itself. LOL! I will admit, however, that the veggies in the KK box is hilarious! Have a good one!

  10. My favorite one (I've never done) is you tape a coffee cup to the roof of their car. If at a stoplight someone starts motioning to you, you act like you have no idea what they're talking about. Then just before the light turns you hold up a sign saying April Fools!

  11. These are hilarious, Penny, though I don't know how my husband would feel about me switching his drawers. He's a bit of a neat freak. Thanks so much for sharing this on #shinebloghop

  12. I like that Krispy Kreme idea! I've done the sink sprayer trick in the past. This year, April Fool's was just another day. No pranks.

  13. They definitely deserve applause for the nice selection of bread and the service at this place which was good from start to finish. The mass produced filet was too good. This is the best venue Houston for hosting great events. The venue can accommodate as many as 850 guests or as little as 50.
