Thinking Out Loud Thursday - Bachelor Edition

Happy St. Patrick's Day!  Did you remember to wear your green today?  Glad you stopped by and joined me and Vanessa over at X-tremely V for Thinking Out Loud Thursday!

Did you watch the Bachelor finale on Monday night?  I had a little viewing party at my house and we had a great time sharing the most dramatic finale ever!  Since then, I've been thinking about the whole bachelor/bachelorette franchise and some advice for those thinking about applying to be a contestant in a future season.  That's what I'm thinking out loud about today.

~  Know what you're getting into.
If you hear it once, you hear it a thousand times on this show, "I didn't know it was going to be like this."  Usually this is followed by some tears and sniffles.  Seriously?!?  Well guess what -- if you didn't know what you were getting into, it is nobody's fault but your own.  Have you never watched the show before?!?  There's 20 seasons floating around out there -- check them out!  Know what you're getting into before you sign the contract to participate.

~  Don't try to make yourself look better by making someone else look bad.
Ummm, Leah.  Just because the love sparks weren't flying between you and Ben, don't go trying to make someone else look bad.  So girls, use this as an example.  Concentrate on your relationship and making it strong, not trying to tear down what someone else might have.  It will come back to bite you in the bottom.  Karma -- it will get you!  Oh, and by the way, when the cameras are taping your conversations there's a good chance it will be on national television.  No need to act shocked that the other girls find out what you did and said.

~  Know what you look like when you cry.
There have been some really, REALLY, ugly criers on the show.  And let's face it, at one time or the other if you're on the show there is a very strong likelihood that you are going to be crying to the camera.  So before you step out of that limo, do a little fake cry in a mirror and check out what you are going to look like.  And for goodness sake, pack some tissues!!  Try to figure out how to shed those tears without looking like these girls ~

~ Leave your chickens at home.
No explanation needed.

Can't wait to see how the next season plays out.  You better believe that I'll be sitting here watching the next group of contestants and their train wrecks happen right before my eyes.  What about you?  Are you a fan of the show?  Happy with Ben's selection?

Now it's your turn ~ share with us what you're thinking out loud about today!  Link up your favorite post(s) from the week below and let us read all about it.

  1. I agree with all of the above! My biggest beef with this season is that he told 2 women that he loved them. While yes, you can fall in love with more than 1 person, I don't agree that he did that because if he truly knew who he was going to pick, that's who he should have said it only to.

Then for it being hard for her to watch - duh! She needs to keep in mind that sparks may not have happened until a few weeks in so yes he's going to do other things with other women up until his final decision. You've seen the show, its common sense!

  2. This is hilarious! I don't watch The Bachelor, but I watched a cheesy knock-off version set in Australia's Outback guy many years ago, so I get the premise. I'm still cracking up over the chicken picture and I have no idea about the back story!

  5. I'm honestly really perplexed on why everyone things about was such a great bachelor! I haven't watched after the Rose yet, but let's be realistic he set both those girl's up for some emotional issues when he told him he loved them both. My sister and I were so disgusted, he seems emotionally manipulative, but I guess it is "the game" part of being on a t.v show also.

  7. The Jimmy Kimmel quote is a classic, and oh, my lands, I am the world's ugliest crier. So even if I WERE the right age, which I never will be again, that alone would have prevented me!

  8. I haven't watched this show in forever. I just think it's ridiculous how these girls will act!

  9. hahaha! I love this show! But a part of me thinks that even if you THINK you know what it's going to be like, you're still in for a shocker. Not just the many people dating one person thing, but the whole cameras and lack of your normal support system or time alone stuff...

  10. Oh my gosh, all the tears this season, it was too much. This was the first time in years I've come back to watching the show and it wasn't too bad. I can't stand Chris Harrison, though. I'm not sure why but he drives me (almost) to drink! LOL!

Have a great day hun! xo

  11. HAHA! SO true!!! We were out of town Monday so I still need to watch it! I know he picks Lauren (heck, I read the spoilers before the show even airs) but I'm a romantic and want to actually see it! ;)

  13. I haven't watched the Bachelor since I moved out of my parents' house. My mom and sister love that show and without a doubt I would get sucked in every season! It's very addictive, but I prefer a well-crafted plot line in my television ;) You're insights though were hilarious!

  14. HAHA that's hilarious Penny! I do enjoy the Bachelor still and really liked this season. But yes, people need to focus on their own relationships more for sure.

  15. I've only fully watched a couple of seasons. As for this last one, I only watched the final episode and the after-show. I think Ben chose well. I will more than likely be watching The Bachelorette with JoJo.
