Five on Friday - September 18, 2020

Happy Friday!  Who's looking forward to the weekend?  I've got both my hands raised over here!  Let's get right to my five for today ~

1.  The Speed of Now - Part 1
Keith Urban's new CD releases today and the songs he's dropped early are pretty darn good.  I'm excited to hear the rest of the sure-to-be hits.  Did you see him hosting the ACM Awards this week?  He's so charming.  This CD has 16 songs and is available HERE.  Happy listening!

2.  Hershey Vampire Kisses
Halloween is probably going to look a little different this year, but we can all celebrate Hershey's new Vampire Kisses.  Bite down in one of these chocolate morsels and inside you'll find red vampire blood (which is really strawberry creme)!  And the foil wrapper has little bats.  How adorable is this!  I'm going to Target for a bag because they will be too cute for my candy dish at work.

One of my favorite authors has a new book coming out on Tuesday.  Jodi Picoult's The Book of Two Ways:  A Novel is summarized on Amazon like this:
Everything changes in a single moment for Dawn Edelstein. She’s on a plane when the flight attendant makes an announcement: Prepare for a crash landing. She braces herself as thoughts flash through her mind. The shocking thing is, the thoughts are not of her husband but of a man she last saw fifteen years ago: Wyatt Armstrong.

Dawn, miraculously, survives the crash, but so do all the doubts that have suddenly been raised. She has led a good life. Back in Boston, there is her husband, Brian, their beloved daughter, and her work as a death doula, in which she helps ease the transition between life and death for her clients.

But somewhere in Egypt is Wyatt Armstrong, who works as an archaeologist unearthing ancient burial sites, a career Dawn once studied for but was forced to abandon when life suddenly intervened. And now, when it seems that fate is offering her second chances, she is not as sure of the choice she once made.

After the crash landing, the airline ensures that the survivors are seen by a doctor, then offers transportation to wherever they want to go. The obvious destination is to fly home, but she could take another path: return to the archaeological site she left years before, reconnect with Wyatt and their unresolved history, and maybe even complete her research on The Book of Two Ways—the first known map of the afterlife.

As the story unfolds, Dawn’s two possible futures unspool side by side, as do the secrets and doubts long buried with them. Dawn must confront the questions she’s never truly asked: What does a life well lived look like? When we leave this earth, what do we leave behind? Do we make choices . . . or do our choices make us? And who would you be if you hadn’t turned out to be the person you are right now?
Does this sound like a great Autumn read!

4.   Leopard Print Belt
With the temperatures cooling down, soon the long pants will be a staple in outfit selection.  Why not add some pizzazz with this adorable leopard print belt!  The price can't be beaten and it's getting great reviews on Amazon.  Just what I need to spruce up my fall wardrobe.  Do you need one too?

5.  Once a mother, always a mother...

We are ending the week on a very high note - our nephew and his beautiful wife had their first baby yesterday!  We've enjoyed seeing all the pictures and can't wait to meet him in person. With COVID it might be a while before that happens.  We're also headed to my home town this weekend to celebrate my dad's 82nd birthday.  Pop back in next week for the weekend rewind.  Have a great one!
