Five on Friday -- Happy Good Friday!

Happy Good Friday!  I'm so happy about being off work today.  I just love Easter and it's wonderful to have a three-day weekend to celebrate.

My parents are coming over for the weekend and, being the procrastinator that I am, I have tons to do to get ready for their stay.  But before I rush back to cleaning the house, here's my five for this Friday.

1.  Planters
This vision came straight from Pinterest and I want to make my porch look similar.  So last Fall, we Eric painted our front door black.  With my very creative friend Carol, I knew the wreath would not be a challenge.  This week I'm ordering the planters from HERE.  My vision should be in place very soon!

Navy door accented by a white frame and adorned with fern planters . . . makes a beautiful and welcoming entrance!

2.  The Woman in Gold
The movies I want to see are starting to stack up, but this week I'm adding another "must see" to my list.  The Woman in Gold is having a limited release today and will be coming everywhere around April 10.  This is the story of Maria Altmann, a Jewish refugee who is forced to flee Vienna during World War II.  Decades later she tries to reclaim a painting the Nazis stole from her family.  I love Helen Mirren AND Ryan Reynolds.  Can't wait to see it!

3.  Kindle Fire
I have to give a shout out to my Kindle.  I just love it!!  I'm planning my beach reads for the summer and have been loading this baby up.  If you're wondering what to get your mom or dad for Mother's Day or Father's Day, consider a Kindle if they don't already have one.  (If you don't have one, you need one too!)  It was probably a year before I started reading books on mine.  In the beginning, I only used it for Facebook and Candy Crush (I know - don't judge).  Then I started watching Netflix on it and now I love it for reading!  Many of my magazines are on it too.  Sure does help keep the weight of my suitcase down when I'm travelling!

4.  Soulard Farmers Market
One of the many things I love about warmer weather getting here are my visits to Historic Soulard Farmers Market.  Located at 730 Carroll Street in St. Louis, Missouri, this open air market features a plethora of things like produce, meats, cheeses, spices, gourmet kettle corn, flowers, baked goods and general merchandise.  The market is open year round, but I personally tend to go more in warmer weather.  They also have a host of little places to buy food and drinks, so you can sip a Bloody Mary as you shop for your fresh produce.  If you're in St. Louis, check it out.

5.  So true...

Easter Egg Hunts: proof your child can find things when they really want to.

Just a reminder -- if you haven't entered to win $125 in the giveaway I'm involved in, click HERE to get signed up.  The drawing will be held April 7.  You know what they say -- you can't win if you don't enter!

Hope everyone has a fantastic Easter.  Please remember the reason for the holiday.  I'll be back on Monday to fill you in on what happened around our house this weekend.

  1. I can't wait for Easter! I'm so bummed because I was supposed to go to the advance screening of The Woman in Gold last Monday but I had to work (boo) but I plan on seeing it when it comes out. I LOVE Helen Mirren (although critics are saying her performance is the only thing good about this film, I still want to see it) Have a great weekend <3

  2. The front door idea is beautiful. Can't wait to see yours. I have a kindle too and although I go back and forth from that and reading books I rent from the library, the kindle has been my go to when I am waiting for books to come in. At our local library I can rent from them to my kindle too. Happy Easter.
