Friday night we enjoyed our tickets at St. Louis's outdoor gem venue - The Muny. The production was Singin' in the Rain and starred Corbin Bleu from High School Musical. It was a hot one on Friday evening with the heat index over 90 degrees, but the cast didn't miss a beat.
The sunset was particularly beautiful as we sat waiting for the show to begin.
When we arrived home, we noticed it didn't feel much different in our house than it did sitting outside. Our air conditioner was broke. Thank heavens the service guy was at our house by 10:30 am on Saturday and had cold air flowing by noon! Thanks Spengler for taking such great care of us! With our area being under a heat advisory, it would have been a rough weekend to go without air conditioning.
Since it was pretty warm inside our house, I decided to do an activity that didn't take a lot of physical energy. With Fourth of July right around the corner, I knew just the activity! Making a few holiday cards would not make me work up a sweat! I whipped up a few of these and got them into the mailbox.
As soon as it was cool enough in the house to comfortably take a shower and get ready, we did. We had a Sip and See to get to! Meeting baby Charlie was the highlight of the day. He is an absolute doll!
I volunteered to make a few decorations. Love it when my friends let me help with their parties!
Shout out to an O'fallon, Illinois store - Namely Yours. They personalized the gifts we gave to Baby Charlie and his big sister Lillian. I got a text from Lillian's mom staying she was carrying her purse around everywhere. So glad she liked it!
When we left the Sip and See, we headed to Cooper's Hawk to get our June tasting in before the month ended. Nothing like waiting till the last minute!
Sunday morning we went to a 8:00 am (yes, 8:00 am!) showing of Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom. I think I might be over the whole Jurassic thing. To me it was just more dinosaurs and bad guys. If you go, stay to the very, very, very end of the film. They give you a little preview of what adventure the next movie might be about.
When we got home, I had a package on my porch from Carney's Custom Hangers. I always like to get the brides I work with a custom hanger to use with their wedding dress. My September bride is coming to my house in a couple weeks for a wedding work day and I wanted to have her hanger to give to her then. I ordered it on Thursday and the mail man delivered it to me on Sunday. Talk about fast turnaround! If you're in the market for a custom hanger, I highly recommended them.
Hope you have a great week ahead! It's a little weird with the 4th falling right in the middle of the week. I'm hoping to head downtown St. Louis to watch their fabulous fireworks show. What's on your agenda?

Oh, I love the cards you made! And little Charlie is so cute.
ReplyDeleteHow fun you saw Corbin Bleu in your play - that would be fun one to see live!!
