The fourth of July is just around the corner. It's time for you to stock up on your decorations! These buntings are the perfect thing to add to your porch, fireplace mantel, or flower boxes. Because they are fade-resistant, you will be able to use them for years to come. Let your patriotic spirit shine this year!
2. Garth Brooks Drive-In Concert
Have you been missing going to concerts? Garth Brooks is coming to our rescue! He announced this week that he will host a concert event at 300 drive-in theaters across American beginning June 27. Tickets will be going on sale on June 19 and the cost will be $100 per vehicle. There will be a limited number of tickets available so mark your calendar and act fast if you're interested!
3. 28 Summers
Elin Hilderbrand's new book, 28 Summers, is being released on June 16. It sounds like a great summer read! Here's the summary from Amazon ~
When Mallory Blessing's son, Link, receives deathbed instructions from his mother to call a number on a slip of paper in her desk drawer, he's not sure what to expect. But he certainly does not expect Jake McCloud to answer. It's the late spring of 2020 and Jake's wife, Ursula DeGournsey, is the frontrunner in the upcoming Presidential election.
There must be a mistake, Link thinks. How do Mallory and Jake know each other?
Flash back to the sweet summer of 1993: Mallory has just inherited a beachfront cottage on Nantucket from her aunt, and she agrees to host her brother's bachelor party. Cooper's friend from college, Jake McCloud, attends, and Jake and Mallory form a bond that will persevere -- through marriage, children, and Ursula's stratospheric political rise -- until Mallory learns she's dying.
Based on the classic film Same Time Next Year (which Mallory and Jake watch every summer), 28 Summers explores the agony and romance of a one-weekend-per-year affair and the dramatic ways this relationship complicates and enriches their lives, and the lives of the people they love.
Last week we got the best surprise - our friend Linda had the Official Quarantine Wine box sent to us. What's this wine you ask. Well, Nocking Point is teaming up with Ashton and Mila Kutcher to promote this endeavor. The box contains two bottles of Pinor Noir wine and 100% of the profits go to the charities who are doing critical work during these unprecedented times. If you're looking for a fun gift to send someone, check them out HERE!
5. We have a new pet....
Have a wonderful weekend! The weather in our area looks pretty close to perfect, which will be wonderful for some of the outdoor projects we have planned. My daughter-in-law and I are doing a virtual Joya sale tonight which I'm really looking forward to. Pop back in next week to see how it goes.

ReplyDeleteThe wine is such fun. Thinking of sending bottles to my sister. Thanks for the info.
ReplyDeleteIf you haven't tried the book Beach Read, I would encourage you to give it a go. I have laughed over and over at the witty banter between characters and can relate to the story line.
Can't wait to check out 28 Summers!
