It's Friday! This week went by in a flash and seemed so quiet compared to last week when we had two five-year-olds visiting. It definitely took me and Eric a couple of days to recover from that! Five fun things are coming your way today for Five on Friday so let's get started ~
1. Release Me 2
Barbra Streisand new CD is out today and I'm so excited to take a listen! The 10-track album features previously unheard sons from the singer's personal vault. The tunes are written by Burt Bacharach and Hal David, Barry Gibb, Paul Williams, Carole King, and others. Barbra was quoted saying the album was "a lovely walk down memory lane...a chance to revisit, and in some cases, add a finishing instrumental touch to songs that still resonate for me in meaningful ways". Alexa - play Release Me 2 until further notice!
2. Let's Start School!
Kiddos will be headed back to school soon and it's always fun to celebrate with a new book. Amazon has a ton of perfect books for your first day of school celebrations! End the summer with a good bedtime read and start the kids' school year off on a positive note.
3. Target Meal Kits
Have you checked out the meal kits at Target? If you're ready for a no-nonsense dinner, turn to Target and grab one of their meal kits that come packaged in bags. Look for these pre-packaged dinners that will feed three in these flavors: chicken and broccoli macaroni and cheese, pesto chicken pasta, a chicken burrito bowl, and an Italian chicken sausage rigatoni. Want to hear the best part? They are ready in 15 minutes or less!
Stephen King's newest book, Billy Summers, was released this week. Here's the summary from Amazon ~
Billy Summers is a man in a room with a gun. He’s a killer for hire and the best in the business. But he’ll do the job only if the target is a truly bad guy. And now Billy wants out. But first there is one last hit. Billy is among the best snipers in the world, a decorated Iraq war vet, a Houdini when it comes to vanishing after the job is done. So what could possibly go wrong?
How about everything.
This spectacular can’t-put-it-down novel is part war story, part love letter to small town America and the people who live there, and it features one of the most compelling and surprising duos in King fiction, who set out to avenge the crimes of an extraordinarily evil man. It’s about love, luck, fate, and a complex hero with one last shot at redemption.
You won’t put this story down, and you won’t forget Billy.
Have a great weekend! Ours is going to be packed with activities. Tonight we're celebrating our daughter-in-law's 30th birthday. Then tomorrow we are headed to my hometown for their annual Old Settler's Homecoming. Let the fun begin!
We just had our first Target meal kit. Have been enjoying HelloFresh once a month for almost a year. Loved the Target kit. So easy. No chopping or anything. Just pasta, sausage, sauce. Threw together a salad. Love Clifford. He will be in his own movie this fall.
