Five on Friday - May 12, 2023

Happy Friday!  I've had the best week being on vacation this week with a friend.  We flew off to Savannah, Georgia on Monday, spent a few days in town, and then moved out to Tybee Island to enjoy some beach time.  It's been glorious!  We'll be easing back into reality when we fly back home tomorrow.  For today, let me share my five for this week ~

1.  Mother's Day
Sunday is Mother's Day!  I'm looking forward to having dinner with my son and daughter-in-law.  Hope you enjoy the day with someone special in your life.  It's a wonderful time to recognize all the mothers and mother-like people that play a part in making you who you are.

2.  Book Club The Next Chapter Movie
Speaking of Mother's Day, if you're looking for something fun to do with your mom the new movie Book Club The Next Chapter opens this week!  I loved the first Book Club movie and I'm looking forward to seeing this one.  Here's the synopsis ~
The highly anticipated sequel follows our four best friends as they take their book club to Italy for the fun girls trip they never had. When things go off the rails and secrets are revealed, their relaxing vacation turns into a once-in-a-lifetime cross-country adventure.

Are you watching the new Netflix show Queen Charlotte Before the Bridgertons?  I've seen a couple episodes and it's pretty good!  The book just came out this week too.  Here's the summary ~
“We are one crown. His weight is mine, and mine is his…”

In 1761, on a sunny day in September, a King and Queen met for the very first time. They were married within hours.

Born a German Princess, Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz was beautiful, headstrong, and fiercely intelligent… not precisely the attributes the British Court had been seeking in a spouse for the young King George III. But her fire and independence were exactly what she needed, because George had secrets… secrets with the potential to shake the very foundations of the monarchy.

Thrust into her new role as a royal, Charlotte must learn to navigate the intricate politics of the court… all the while guarding her heart, because she is falling in love with the King, even as he pushes her away. Above all she must learn to rule, and to understand that she has been given the power to remake society. She must fight—for herself, for her husband, and for all her new subjects who look to her for guidance and grace. For she will never be just Charlotte again. She must instead fulfill her destiny… as Queen.

I have a thing for china and have purchased a few sets off of Facebook Marketplace.  Recently I purchased these felt plate dividers to use for storing them to protect against scrapes, scratches, and chips.  The set comes with 96 protectors in small, medium, and large sizes and is perfect for a full collection of up to 12 place settings.  They would also be perfect for your everyday dishes in the pantry to stop the rubbing, bumping, and sticking together.

5.  Messages I Love...

Hope you have a wonderful weekend!  If you missed it this week, here are the blogs I've shared:

See you back next week!
