Five on Friday - January 22, 2021

Happy Friday!  Enjoy my five for today ~

1.  National Pie Day
Tomorrow is my kind of day - National Pie Day!  Whether you make your own or pick a slice up at your favorite place, celebrate tomorrow by savoring a piece of pie!  Do you like yours a la mode?  Room temperature, cold or warmed up?  One of my favorites is Coconut Macadamia Nut.  If you want to whip one up, see the recipe HERE.

This year for Christmas we got our parents a Brookstone Photoshare Frame and it was a big hit!  Now we (and anyone we share their special email with) can send pictures to the frame and they can see them instantly.  Amazon describes it best ~
Instantly send photos from phone to frames in seconds with the free Photoshare App
Multiple photos may be sent to up to 10 Photoshare Frames at once
Photos can be sent directly to the Photoshare frame via email, from PC or via link with Facebook
Photos can be sent from google photos or other photo apps, making it fast, easy and fun to find and share your favorite pictures with friends and family
High definition touchscreen display

Now if we are doing something we want to share, we can just send over the picture right away.  How fun!

3.  All Creatures Great & Small
Eric and I have found a new show we are falling in love with - All Creatures Great and Small on PBS.  Here's the summary ~
James Herriot’s adventures as a veterinarian in 1930s Yorkshire get a glorious new adaptation in All Creatures Great and Small, a seven-part series based on his beloved books. See the highly-anticipated show Sundays, January 10 – February 21, 2021 on MASTERPIECE on PBS. Also, All Creatures Great and Small has been renewed for a second season!

Exciting newcomer Nicholas Ralph will make his television debut as the iconic vet who became renowned for his inspiring humor, compassion and love of life. Samuel West (Mr. Selfridge, On Chesil Beach) plays Siegfried Farnon, the wonderfully eccentric veterinary surgeon and proprietor of Skeldale House, who reluctantly hires the recently qualified Herriot into his rural practice.

Mrs. Hall, the resident housekeeper and matriarch of Skeldale House, is played by Anna Madeley (The Child in Time, Patrick Melrose). Siegfried’s errant and charismatic younger brother, Tristan, is played by Callum Woodhouse (The Durrells in Corfu). Rachel Shenton (Switched at Birth, White Gold) takes the role of Helen Alderson, an independent local farmer’s daughter who helps her father manage the family farm and care for her younger sister. Diana Rigg (Victoria, Game of Thrones) plays Mrs. Pumphrey, the delightfully eccentric owner of the overly indulged Pekingese Tricki Woo, while Matthew Lewis (Harry Potter, Ripper Street) plays Hugh Hulton, a wealthy landowner and rival to James for Helen’s affections.

4.  Love on the Rocks
Looking for a beautiful drink to have this Valentine's Day?  There's a secret menu item at Starbucks called Love on the Rocks you should try!  In Starbucks fashion, you need to know the special language to order it.  According to Popsugar, here's what you'll need to say:  Ask for a venti passion tea sans the water and sweetener.  Add four pumps of raspberry.  Ask for light coconut milk and light strawberry puree.  Ask that your iced drink be topped with cold foam with strawberry puree blended in.  Yum!

5.  Time to Clean Out My Purse....

Have a wonderful weekend!  The highlight of ours will be watching the football games and doing a Zoom Saturday night with our small group from church.  I'm really looking forward to relaxing for a couple days!  Pop back in on Monday to see the highlights.
